2D Barcode Tools for Crystal Reports > Introduction > Additional steps for Crystal Reports XI

Step 1.

Ensure that the Microsoft Internet Information Service is installed and available.

Note: The Barcode image server does not need to receive data from outside your computer, so unless you need to use Internet Information Service for other purposes you should ensure that access to this service from outside your computer is not permitted by your firewall.

Windows 2000/XP: You can check for the presence of Internet Information Services on Windows 2000 or XP by opening the Administrative Tools item on the Control Panel. If it contains an icon for Internet Information Services then the service is installed and you can proceed to step 2.

If the service is not installed you need to install it from the Windows 2000/XP CD. Choose the Add/Remove programs item in the Control Panel. In the dialog box displayed select the Add/Remove Windows Components icon and check the box alongside the entry labelled Internet Information Services (IIS). Then push the Next button and follow the instructions.

Windows Vista: You can check for the presence of Internet Information Services on Windows Vista by opening the Control Panel (Classic View) and selecting the Programs and Features icon. Double-click the icon and select the Turn Windows Features On or Off icon. In the dialog box displayed locate Internet Information Services. If the check box alongside is checked then the Internet Information Service is installed and you can proceed to step 2.

If the service is not installed you need to install it by selecting the check box and pushing the OK button – then just follow any on screen instructions.

If you install Internet Information Services be sure to run Windows Update when installation is complete to check for any security updates for the service.
