Additional Options

The Setup & Maintenance screen contains an Options button which gives access to the Options screen, which in turns allows the setting of a number of options for TouchTil operation.

The Daily Report threshold time is the time at which the 24 hour period covered by the daily report period finishes (ie. Any later time would be considered to be part of the following day). The default time is 1 second to midnight, although businesses that operate at night may choose to set this to a quite different value.

The colour of the Orders screen background (which is the screen the operator will spend most time using) may be set to any desired colour by pushing the Til Colour button and selecting a colour from the standard Windows dialog.

The Options screen contains checkboxes for determining the action to be taken on sale completion. Thus some business will wish to give one copy of a receipt to the customer and keep another copy in the drawer. Checking the Offer 2 copies of Cash sales receipts will produce an on-screen button after the first receipt is printed to allow the operator to print a second copy.

Additional checkboxes permit the requiring of the use of reference numbers (eg. Tables in a restaurant) so that items may not be selected before a reference number has been entered, turning on or off a sound played each time a button is pushed on the order screen, and the option to operate in Ticket printing mode.

Some receipt printers will offer 2 copies as an option in the printer driver, so if a business always wants 2 copies of receipts without the dialog box appearing, setting the facility in the printer driver may be preferred.

The same choice is offered for card sales.

For Invoice sales the option is provided to have a receipt printed for the drawer whether or not TouchTil is used to print a page Invoice.
