From January 2008 the ISMN coding scheme is EAN13, with the first three digits being 979.
The ISMN number should be supplied complete with hyphenation, and this will appear above the barcode.

Unused older (10 digit) ISMNs may be converted to the new format by prefixing the 10 digit ISMN with 9790.
