Bitmap images

Unlike metafiles, bitmaps maintain the resolution with which they were created, so that although a bitmap image may be resized at will, the individual dots of the bitmap also get resized. When dBarcode saves a bitmap image it does so with the resolution of the screen image being displayed at the time. Consequently to obtain the highest possible bitmap resolution the dBarcode Window should be maximized before the bitmap is saved. File space may be reduced by working with a lower window size, but the resolution of the final image will also be reduced.

The user will need to experiment with the size of dBarcode Window to use in order to obtain the optimum resolution required for the kind of barcode image being created, the resolution of their Windows screen (e.g. 640*480, 800*600, etc.) and the type of printer on which the final image will be printed (e.g. 8-pin matrix, 300 dpi, 1200 dpi, etc.). ALL barcode images should be tested in their final form before extensive print runs are undertaken.
