Enhanced metafiles

Most modern 32 bit applications support  Enhanced metafile pictures, which generally are more easily handled than standard metafiles. If you are pasting a clipboard image into a modern application you can often choose the type of image to be pasted by selecting a menu item such as Paste Special which will offer a choice Picture type. A standard metafile image may appear distorted when treated by an application as an enhanced metafile. This is not a fault with dBarcode - its caused by the other application failing to correctly identify the metafile type.

dBarcode supports Enhanced Metafiles in addition to standard metafile pictures. Using the Copy Options of the Edit menu you can select which formats are used when a barcode image is copied to the clipboard. By default, dBarcode will copy both standard and enhanced metafiles (and bitmaps) to the clipboard, allowing the target application to select the optimum format during a paste operation.

TrueType fonts scale more smoothly in Enhanced metafiles than in standard metafiles - retaining the shape of the original font outline. dBarcode displays the enhanced metafile image on screen by default. If you wish to view the standard metafile image uncheck the Enhanced metafile option of the View menu.
