Code 128 and EAN/UCC 128 barcodes include in their character sets four Function characters which are used for a variety of purposes but not generally required in any human readable form.
dBarScan can report these characters using the character substitutions specified by FNC1, FNC2, FNC3 and FNC4, so the developer may set these properties to any convenient character.
Note: The FNC1 that is the second element of an EAN/UCC 128 barcode is never returned.
