Database Maintenance page

The Database Maintenance page allows the following database disk file options to be set:

Database marked as Read Only - when checked indicates that the currently open database file is marked as read only. If database edits are permitted by the current security settings, these edits will effects only the database copy currently in use and will be lost when the database is closed.

Strip pathname from database files on saves. When label templates are saved the name of any associated database file is saved within the label file. Normally the full pathname of the database file is used. However, if label files and databases are to be transferred from one computer system to another which has a different directory/folder structure then opening the label file may result in the dLabel not be able to find the database. By checking the Strip pathname check box the pathname  has the directory name removed (so that only the filename remains), and dLabel will look for the database file in the same directory as the label template which specifies the database.

Make backup copies before saves. If this check box is checked then before a database file is saved a backup copy (using the extension 001, 002, etc.) of the original file is made in the same directory as the original. The user can specify the maximum number of backup files created in this way.

Auto-save. If this check box is checked dLabel will automatically update the database data on disk at the user-specified time interval.
