Foreground property page

A shapes foreground may be turned on by un-checking the No-foreground check box. This enables a number of buttons that control the style of the foreground.

Pushing the Colour button allows the colour of the foreground to be selected from the colour palette displayed.

Pushing the Hatching button allows the choice between solid colour and on of the hatched patterns provided on the hatching palette.

Pushing the Shape button allow the choice of the shape of the foreground image to be selected from the shape palette. When a shape is selected an outline of the shape may be drawn. The colour of the outline may be selected by pushing the Colour button in the Outline Pen box, and the thickness of the outline (in millimetres) may be specified by entering the required thickness in the Size text box.

Pushing the Bitmap button displays the Windows File open dialog, allowing a picture file to be selected to provide the background image. Note that, unlike a picture element, a foreground picture will always be fitted into the space allowed for the Shape element.

If a small bitmap is loaded for the foreground image, the picture may be stretched to occupy the whole area of the element’s background, or, by checking the Tile check box, may be tiled (i.e. multiple copies may be used to fill the region). The tiling facility is not available under Windows 95.
