How to create a new database

Creation of a database involves three basic steps:

1.       Select New from the Database menu and, in the Fields Property page, specify the number of fields required for the database by
either
(i) entering the number of fields required and pushing the Create button (which will create the fields with default names)
or
(ii) entering the field names one at a time into the New Fieldname box and pushing the Add to List button after each one.
Then push the OK button

2.  Name the database file by selecting File from the Database menu and then displaying the Save page by clicking on the Save tab. Push the Save As button and enter the required filename. Push the Save button and then the OK button on the Database property page.

3.   From the Records menu choose Add (or push F7). The New Record dialog appears, allowing data to be entered one field at a time, followed by pushing the Next Field button after each field entry, and the OK button when each record is complete. When all the required records have been entered push the Cancel button to close the New Record dialog.
