1. Select File from the Database menu. Select the ODBC tab 2. Check the Use ODBC and Reset field names check boxes. Push the Build button. 3. In the File Data Sources page push the New button 4. Select SQL server from the list of drivers 5. Enter a name that you wish to call this new source. Push the Finish button 6. When back in the Data Source wizard enter a description and then drop down the list of servers. If it can't find any servers then your server is not set up to allow connections by ODBC. 7. Push the next button then select the relevant authentication method. Push the Client configuration button and ensure that you have the appropriate connection method in the enabled column (eg. TCP/IP or named pipes, etc.) 8. push the next button. Change the default database if necessary. Push Next. Make any other changes necessary. Push Finish. 9. When the ODBC summary page is display you can test the settings by pushing the Test Data Source button. 10 When ready, push the OK button to return to dLabel. 11. You have created the ODBC connect, you now need to specify the SQL language to get the data, such as "select * from table 1" 12 Push the Connect button to ensure that the records can be accessed, the push OK to finish. If all went well you are now connected. If all did not go well, note that older version of dLabel used Microsoft's earlier version of the connection drivers. These were replaced for security reasons. A Post-5.5 version of dLabel is required to work with newer data connection drivers. dLSoft April 2005
