DLSoft Application Note 06011 Moving the Universal Barcode Font macros in Excel to a new spreadsheet. 1. Open the supplied UFXL2k.XLS workbook. 2. Save it with a different name (e.g. Barcodes.xls) This is so that if you make a mistake the original spreadsheet is not damaged! 3. With this newly saved workbook open, open the Macros dialog from the Tools menu and confirm that a macro call dBarcode is visible. Copying to another Workbook using Excel 95 4. To copy the dBarcode macros to another workbook in Excel 95, open the other workbook, then click on the Barcodes.xls workbook and from the edit menu choose "Move or Copy sheet". 5. Ensure that the "Make a Copy" check box is checked, that BarcodeMacs is highlighted. 6. Select the name of the workbook to which you wish to copy the macros in the "To Book" list box, and then click on OK. Copying to another Workbook using Excel 97/2000 4. To copy the macros to another workbook in Excel 97 or 2000, open Barcodes.xls workbook and the destination workbook. 5. From the Tools menu choose Macros and open the Visual Basic editor. 6. Now if the project explorer is not already open, select Project Explorer from the Edit menu (View menu in Excel 2000), and you will see a list containing the names of the two workbooks that are open (barcodes.xls on one and Book1.xls on the other). Select the BarcodeMacs items of the modules folder (select the whole of Module1 in Excel 2000) in the Barcodes.xls item and drag it to the destination item (the Book1 project) in the project list. The Barcodes.xls spreadsheet can be closed. The macros are now installed on the new spreadsheet. The same technique can be used to transfer the macros to any spreadsheet. ---------------------------------- dLSoft June 2001
